“I am a firm believer that college is a time where we should place knowledge acquisition and relationship building at the center of campus life. As I move through beyond college, I believe that carrying these habits with me will lead me towards a more fulfilled experience as a lifelong learner. “

My name is Sophia Cáceres and I am a current student at Swarthmore College.
Entering college, my goal was to learn as much as possible about topics that are totally unfamiliar to me while continuing my efforts to become fluent in Spanish. In the process, I discovered my deep interest in the inner workings of religious traditions and their intersections with cultural practice. Just like that, I had added two majors to my degree, both of which I am actively pursuing.
Despite my desire to achieve fluency in Spanish and expand my worldview of religious traditions, I have realized that my passion lies within the food industry. Through personal and college-sponsored projects, I have explored multiple facets of food writing and experience as well as culinary skills in order to determine in which career paths my skills best apply.
